Local environmentalists, wildlife enthusiasts and those with a keen interest in sustainability are invited to attend environmental group, Woking Local Action 21’s (LA21) Annual General Meeting on Thursday 14 November 2019, at the WWF-UK’s Living Planet Centre.
During the evening, the group’s achievements over the past 12 months will be shared, including the successful Plastic Free Woking initiative. The campaign has raised invaluable awareness of the environmental damage caused by single-use plastics and encouraged behavioural change amongst residents and businesses.
In addition, guest speakers will provide thoughtful insight under the theme ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’. This will include:
- Bare + Fair and Refill & Refuel
Find out how to make easy household switches to reduce your daily use of plastic. Founders Victoria and Mel will cover current plastic use and its impact on our planet.
- Farnham Repair Café
The collaborative project runs community-based workshops for people to work with volunteer fixers to repair and maintain their broken or faulty products.
- Joint Waste Solutions
Discover more about initiatives aimed at increasing recycling, reducing waste and tackling several other environmental issues within the borough and beyond.
All are welcome at the free-to-attend event. Booking is essential. To reserve your place, please visit www.wokinglocalaction21agm.eventbrite.co.uk
