Wednesday December 23rd

It’s time to celebrate! But not with the parties and big nights out (that’s so last year!)

Rounding off this year, we’ll all be staying home under tier 4 restrictions. We’re doing it so that 2021 can start with everyone being, feeling and staying safe. That doesn’t mean Thursday night (and Friday morning) can’t be a whole lot of fun…

Here are our top tips to inspire a fun night in:

DIY decorations
We’ve put together a handy guide to get the little ones (and the big kids, too!) creative. Download our NYE Activity Pack here and jazz up your home for the big night.

Movie marathon
Fed up of Christmas movies? You’ve earned a binge night of your own making. So, choose your own theme, franchise or genre, and get the popcorn in the microwave.

Party on - online, that is!
Everybody’s stayed connected with video calls this year. So, raise a glass to one more to toast the New Year on Zoom with your family and friends.

Style up your games night
Before you whip out the Scrabble and Monopoly, go for the arts and crafts box. Take the time to put your own twist on a game - whether you’re building your own chess pieces or scribbling new cards for Pictionary, there’s always a way to rejuvenate the classics.

Recipe for success
Ok, this is the obvious one… FOOD! The leftovers will be long gone by the 31st, so put the home baking skills that you’ve perfected this year to good use.

Show us your stay-at-home New Year’s nights in by sharing your photos on the #WEAREWOKING social channels.

Thank you for playing your part in keeping our Borough safe throughout 2020 and beyond. This isn’t the year anyone had planned or hoped for, but we have come together like never before, and that is the community spirit we should all be excited to enjoy for years to come.

Happy New Year!
